What's new
Every release of LoopingTube, in reverse order. The most recent version is at the top — scroll down to trace the project from a simple A/B looper to a fully-featured practice studio.
v3.0April 2026latest
Practice Studio
A full design re-skin and a leaner Player. Warm studio surfaces, editorial type, tactile controls — the looper finally feels like an instrument.
NEW
Speed control as a slider
The playback speed dropdown is now a 5%-step slider from 0.25× to 2×. Easier to nudge, easier to dial in the exact tempo you can keep up with.
NEW
Gradual tempo ramp
Practice slow, end fast. Set a starting speed on the slider, then choose how much to bump, how often, and a target — the loop auto-steps the playback rate up every N completed loops until it hits the cap. Made for ramping a tricky phrase up to performance tempo without leaving the player.
NEW
Practice Studio redesign
New design language across the app: warm dark surfaces, an ember + copper + flame accent palette, Fraunces for editorial titles, Geist for prose, JetBrains Mono for timecodes and labels. Tactile shadows on every pressable surface.
NEW
Paste a YouTube URL into the address bar
Swap youtube.com for loopingtube.com in any video URL — or just append the bare video ID — and you land straight in the looper. loopingtube.com/<id>, /watch?v=<id>, /youtu.be/<id>, and full pasted URLs all work. Share links are shorter too: loopingtube.com/<id> instead of /video/<id>.
NEW
Direct feedback channel
The feedback page now points to a real email address with a friendly note, so suggestions and bug reports get a real reply instead of disappearing into a form.
v2.5March 2026
Polish & Sharing
A round of UI polish ahead of the v3 redesign, plus a few user-facing additions to the home page.
POLISH
Typography & UI refresh
Cleaner type hierarchy, a friendlier URL input, refreshed thumbnails, and slider aesthetics that finally match the rest of the app. A warm-up before the v3 redesign.
NEW
Social share & FAQ on the home page
Share the app with one click on X, Reddit, Hacker News, Facebook, WhatsApp, Telegram, or email. A new collapsible FAQ answers the questions new users ask most.
v2.0December 2025
Advanced Loop Controls
The release that turned LoopingTube from a simple A/B looper into a real practice tool — with countdown, loop limits, pauses, recording, and shareable clips.
NEW
Start countdown
Set a 0–10 second countdown before the loop starts. A visible 'Starting in 3… 2… 1…' helps you get into position before the first beat.
NEW
Loop count limit
Cap the loop at a fixed number of repeats from 1 to 50, or leave it on ∞ for endless looping. The loop stops on its own with a 'Completed X/X loops' confirmation.
NEW
Pause between loops
Insert a 0–10 second gap between repetitions for resetting your hands, taking a breath, or repeating what you just heard. A short countdown previews the next pass.
NEW
Stop button
A dedicated stop button surfaces while looping is active so you can bail out instantly and return to a paused state without scrubbing the timeline.
NEW
Audio recording
Record yourself over the loop with a live waveform, then play your take back to compare. One take per loop, kept for the session.
NEW
Shareable clip URLs
Every clip you make is encoded into the URL, so you can paste a link to a friend, a teacher, or a forum and they land on the same loop you set up.
NEW
Better clip list
A sortable, selectable list of saved clips per video — switch between them with one click, see clip duration at a glance, and order them ascending or descending.
POLISH
Hidable settings & cleaner controls
Loop options live in a collapsible settings panel below the player, transport controls were split off from looping logic, and disabled buttons now actually look disabled.
POLISH
Shortcuts in the sidebar
The keyboard shortcuts modal now opens from the sidebar, so it's reachable from any page — not just the player.
